the 6V cars can reach speeds of up to 3mph (5km/h) which is roughly the same as an adults walking pace.

pedal cars use push pedals, rather than rotary. They resemble stirrups and the child propels the car by alternately pushing the pedals, the advantage being there is no chain which could injure the child or damage clothing. Additionally, the pedal versions do not have a footplate which allows younger children to push the car along with their feet until they can pedal.
