Moose and Netflix Bet on Farmyard Songs and Wonka Mischief

Netflix and Moose Toys are widening a partnership that increasingly looks less like licensing and more like a long game in children’s fandom. The next projects on Moose’s slate are toy ranges based on two newly announced Kids & Family titles: Young MacDonald, an animated musical series, and Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory, an animated film inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The expansion follows Moose’s toy line tied to Netflix’s live-action One Piece and underscores a broader strategy around story-first play. Moose is also deepening creative ties elsewhere in its portfolio, including collaborations with former NASA engineer Mark Rober of CrunchLabs and teen creator Salish Matter.
Ronnie Frankowski, CEO of Moose Toys, framed both new properties as rich settings for the company’s style of inventive toy design, with room to build products that feel new to children and families.
Young MacDonald reimagines the nursery rhyme through six-year-old Mac, grandson of Old MacDonald, who runs his own farm with Dumpling the pig and turns feeding animals, growing food and daily chores into adventures.
Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory is set for release in 2027. In it, Willy Wonka, voiced by Taika Waititi, returns from prison after serving time for turning a child into a blueberry. He comes back to find teenager Charlie Paley, played by Kit Connor, and friends planning a factory break-in to steal a valuable Wonka Bar and stop their eviction.
